An Invitation For A Whine Or Wine?
Whining has become our form of life.
Especially here in The Americas. The majority of us love to complain about anything and everything. Our car, the freeways, the weather, our spouses, our children you name it we have become proficient, big whiners. We are dissatisfied and annoyed people.
We have taken many things for granted and think we should have it all given to us in the palm of our hand or else it isn't good. Like babies, we whine and like babies are the results we will get. That is not a good karma.
I have been, with all my heart and mind trying very hard to kick this bad habit out of my life.
The Bible says in #Philippians 2:14 “Do everything without complaining or arguing.” Notice it says everything. We are a bunch of disobedient people for what is good to us and for us because we think that this caution, given to us long ago by the God who made us and knows what is good for us, is worthless or silly or of no consequence.
But think again. There are many illnesses on the road of whining.
Medical science has proved it.
#Complaining has terrible consequences for your #mental and #physical health.
While it’s not an exaggeration to say that complaining leads to brain #damage, it doesn’t stop there.
When you complain, your body releases the #stress hormone cortisol. #Cortisol shifts you into fight-or-flight mode, directing oxygen, blood, and energy away from everything but the systems that are essential to immediate survival.
One effect of cortisol is to raise your blood pressure and blood sugar so that you’ll be prepared to either escape or defend yourself.
All the extra cortisol released by frequent complaining impairs your immune system and makes you more susceptible to high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. It even makes the brain more vulnerable to strokes. Not good at all.
The #Bible says that God hates complaining and murmuring and whining.
That is one big reason the Jewish people when they were delivered by God, through Moses, from Egypt, walked around the same place in the #wilderness for 40 years.
They died there also and did not get to go into the promised land.
So #whining, though you think feels good to do, robs you of goodness everywhere. Imagine being stuck in a wilderness 40 years or maybe more.
Complaining, whining, murmuring, they are thieves of what is good for us. They strip us of a great life and leave us broken, sick, and lonely.
Now, on the other hand, wine, which sounds like whine, is better for you. I mean the becoming of "a wine" type of person.
Aha, but then some will say, there goes the #God-Word thing again. Well, certainly my dear friend. The point is that we have to go to Him to become a Heavenly wine and not a whine.
It takes a life in God to be happy and merry when life gives us bad turns. We have to allow Him and His presence in our lives to be of good for ourselves and others.
When we feel like life is squeezing us and there are pressures all around us, only a close #relationship with Him will make us sing and dance and make our wine.
The burden that God places on us squeezes the #grapes in our lives and produces the wine, but most of us see only the wine and not the burden. No power on earth or in hell can conquer the #Spirit of God living within us. It creates an inner #invincibility.
The Bible says in Isaiah 40:31 King James Version (KJV)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.
Another verse in the Bible says in
Proverbs 17:22 King James Version (KJV)
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Then in the New Testament, it tells us we are to profit from trials.
James 1:2-8 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let, not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
How we need to tell God to bring the cheese and crackers because we have allowed all these things that crush us, to turn us into the best wine anyone could ever have around.
So, my dear friends, if your life is producing a whine instead of #wine, I invite you to kick it out of you today and become the most blessed and joyous person on the planet. The world needs an invitation to share into our wine of joy and goodness and encouragement and not to hear us whine.
